The E-Class Coupe has been on the market since 2009 and now it will receive a facelift procedure right in time for the 2013 model year. The biggest changes will be visible at the front of the car, where the new styling identity will bring a substantially different appearance for the large-sized 2-door vehicle.

The four-eyed fascia has been a hallmark for the executive cars in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio since mid '90s. The W 210 series of the E-Class brought the unique four headlamps into attention, that quickly spawned to the new CLK-Class as well. This feature was transmitted to the W 211 and W 212 E-Class models, in addition to all CLK generations that followed. The facelift will mark the return of the single-piece headlights, a tribute to the iconic C 124 model in a modern interpretation that will certainly deliver a powerful stance.

The new styling upgrades for the E-Class Coupe will be completed with a new single-louvre grille and a revised front bumper. Further changes are also expected at the rear end, with the new LED graphics for the tail lamps set to be the main attraction. Inside, the C 207 will receive an enhanced dashboard and the latest assistance technologies for improved comfort, safety and connectivity.

Most of the engine range shall remain untouched, but some versions might undergo some tweaks for increased efficiency and performance. It is the case of the new E 350 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe and E 500 Coupe high-end petrol variant. The output of the BlueDIRECT V6-powered model will rise up to 333 hp, while the 8-cylinder choice will boast 435 hp instead of the current 408 hp. It remains uncertain whether Mercedes-Benz will eventually offer an AMG version for the E-Class Coupe - unlikely if we look that we already have the C 63 AMG Coupe and the CLS 63 AMG in the portfolio.

While the mainstream models of the E-Class lineup will make their global debut early in January 2013 at the NAIAS Detroit, both the Coupe and Cabriolet variants will be officially showcased two months later, in March, on the stage of the Geneva Motor Show.
