The revamping process of the E-Class lineup in advance of 2013 will include every body version, from the limousine up to the cabriolet and ending with prestigious high-end AMG variants. Apart from the usual technical upgrades, the forthcoming E 63 models will introduce an all new key stylistic identity never before seen on an E-Class model.

When Mercedes-Benz decided to propose to very different and evenly separated equipment lines for the C-Class beginning with 2007, when the 204 generation came into force, the public delivered a highly positive response. The C-Class Elegance continued with the classic chrome grille, while the Avantgarde trim became unique and distinct thanks to the sports grille with the Star logo located in the middle of it.

With the new E-Class Facelift, it seems Mercedes-Benz will apply the same technique, at least for the range-topping E 63 AMG, if not for the E-Class Avantgarde as well. The executive sports saloons and estates tuned in Affalterbach will boast a striking stance with the help of the imposing Star grille with single-louvre, twin-blade design. Together with the new headlights and the impressive air-cooling pods in the front bumper, the 2013 E 63 AMG is sure to deliver a sensational visual performance.

The rim choice could also comprise new models, but we must admit the most suitable ones are the multi-spoke wheels with a 20-inch diameter. The Ponton crease feels to be more discrete and rather estompated, helping to balance the profile, which currently looks pretty busy aesthetics-wise. The LED tail lamps will receive artistic inner graphics and a sligthly revised exterior shape. The trunk section will be further cherished with an aerodynamic diffuser and a set of four impressive exhausts, inspired from the SL 63 & SL 65 AMG models, that are bound to produce a unique, deep sound, in perfect AMG style.

The driver will pampered with an exclusive interior garnished with high-quality materials, such as stitched leather (with perforated effect, Nappa or Alcantara), carbon-fibre trims and aluminium. The flattened steering wheel and the complete AMG RIDE MANAGEMENT system will further enhance the driving experience aboard the new E 63 AMG. The COMAND Online infotainment assistant with integrated internet access ensures everything stays fully functional and up-to-date in order to offer the maximum level of security and comfort.

The beast under the engine hood will the popular 5.5-litre V8 powerplant featuring direct petrol injection and biturbocharging. Rumors are Mercedes-AMG will raise the stake for the unit to deliver a bigger output than the current 525 hp value. The 2013 E 63 AMG Facelift could boast 537 hp in standard specification and 564 hp is the Performance Package is fitted. Flat-out acceleration up to 100 km/h should take around 4.5 seconds, while the top speed will still be electronically limited to 250 km/h. Power transfer to the rear wheels will be governed through the AMD SPEEDSHIFT MCT-7 gearbox, while the AMG RIDE CONTROL and the AMG high-performance 6-piston brake system will take care the car behaves properly in every situation.
