Mercedes will offer the new S-Class in no more than six variants. After the short and long wheelbase sedans that will be presented in June, the two-door model will arrive in the summer 2014. It will no longer be called CL, but the S-Class Coupé.

Overall, the coupé seems to offer a sportier look than the outgoing model with a lower roof-line and door-mounted side mirrors. The S-Class Coupé will offer the two monitor-layout as in the sedan, as well as gasoline and hybrid drives. Rumours suggest that besides the traditional V8 and V12 engines, Mercedes will also offer a twin-turbo 3-liter V6 option. The model will be shortly followed by the first S-Class Cabrio after the 1960s W 111 model. Later on, two long versions of the S-Class are expected to replace the now defunct Maybach range.
