There's still a long go to the reveal of the new C-Class in 2014 and speculation over the styling philosophy is continuously growing ever since the first camouflaged prototypes were released on streets last winter. Those wondering about the design theme of the interior will now get an answer after spy photographers managed to snap a picture of the dashboard. The team led by interior chief designer Hartmut Sinkwitz have applied a modern and dynamic touch to the future W 205. After having the shots taken inside the W 222 luxury flagship model coming this summer, we can say the next generation C-Class will be when launched, more than ever in history, a baby S-Class. The center console will be slightly more inclined than it is currently, emphasizing the key visual triple air vents and the aircon controls.
No more hump in the dashboard, as the infotainment system will have its large liquid-crystal display mounted above the center console, just like in the new A-Class and B-Class. Moreover, the front armrest appears to be a bit wider, whereas the rotary controller for the @yourCOMAND telematics gets a new design and increased functionality thanks to a more intuitive organizing of the easy-access buttons placed around it. Near the new gear stick, clients will find the commands for various safety and dynamic systems of the car, as well as a practical storage compartment and circular areas to put your bottles of drink in.
The steering wheel types will also suffer some updates, but as seen, they are basically evolved from the standard design premiered on the CLS back in 2010, that is now spread across the entire range of Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles. The new C-Class will also receive a new instrument cluster, comprising a bigger information display and new graphics for the main gauges (speedometer, turometer and so on). Last, but not least, the new door handles, with their distinctive arch-shaped styling, are directly inspired by the new S-Class.
Enthusiasm for the future W 205 C-Class rises to a new level after analyzing these set of spy shots. We know the exterior will be a mindblowing masterpiece, combinating elements of progressive, organic and reverse-wedge design philosophies, and now we are completely sure the interior won't let us down. Quality will be at its highest in the new medium-sized premium limousine from Stuttgart, which will eventually make it the king in the class.
