The new Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG comes to complete the new compact portfolio of the Affalterbach tuner that kicked off with the new A 45 AMG premiering at Geneva Motor Show this month. Following the same recipe, the high-performance four-door coupe will be officially unveiled at the New York International Auto Show starting March, 29th, thus marking the introduction of the C 117 series onto the American market.

First official details and hi-res pics from Mercedes-AMG are set to come as early as tomorrow or next days, so prior to the automotive event. The CLA 45 AMG features a grumpier stance in comparison to its hatchback brother. The dominant signs of the front end are the sharpened headlights featuring LED technology, the twin-blade grille and the carbon fiber fins placed near the extraordinary looking air intakes. The chromed logos on the front wings highlight this car is equipped with AMG's brand new TURBO M133 powerplant. While the profile is practically identical to the standard-spec CLA, the rear end receives a pronounced aerodynamic lip on the trunk hood, a muscular diffuser and quad exhausts.

The sports ride gets enhanced by the 3-stage ESP® with ESP® Curve Dynamic Assist, which combines with the high-grade suspension and brake system to deliver an unparalleled level of dynamism. Performance characteristics are similar to the A 45 AMG. The Performance 4MATIC platform sends the maximum output of 360 hp and directs the impressive amount of torque of 450 Nm to the four wheels in a front-biased ratio of 67:33 with the help of the SPEEDSHIFT DCT-7 dual-clutch automatic transmission. Zero to 100 km/h takes a mere 4.6 seconds, while the top speed reaches the 250 km/h barrier (electronically governed).

Like the sports hatchback, the CLA 45 AMG too benefits from the extensive customization programme of the AMG Performance Studio, which offers unlimited choices for personalizing your dream car. Obviously, the EDITION 1 limited-run model will be available from the start of sales. Reports suggest that starting price for the new CLA 45 AMG should come below 50,000 dollars in USA and below 40,000 euros in Europe.

Stay tuned to find out the latest as new details and pictures are released!

LEAKED: Meet the brand new Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class (C 117)!

As today is the 24th December, we were not expecting many breaking news to publish on our website. But Santa Claus thought different and we ended up receiving a rather unexpected, yet highly pleasant Christmas gift. Here, we share it with our visitors - ladies and gentlemen, a warm welcome to the new member of the Mercedes-Benz family: the CLA-Class, company's so-entitled executive compact four-door coupe.

At a closer inspection, the leaked photos appear to have been scanned from an internal brochure and then spread across the internet. However, we do not expect to see the official press pack any time soon. As the CLA gets a special preview on the eve of the NAIAS Detroit 2013, first pictures and information should be released by mid-January (14 to 15). This all-so-crucial model also follows the heritage of the CLS bestseller, in a compact-sized approach but retaining the pure essence of an elegant 4-door coupe model through its emotional exterior design.

Sticking to the car itself, the CLA resembles the main attributes of the New Compact Car Generation (NCCG) lineup, although its length is anything but compact. 4.6 meters, which is at least 1 centimeter longer than the current C-Class Sedan. This means the W 205 generation of the premium mid-class limousine should have around 4.7 - 4.8 meters to accomodate the CLA in the range.

The front end is powerful and inspired from the A-Class and the Concept Style Coupe, although a bit toned down compared to the showcar. The images emphasize the range-topping CLA 250 SPORT edition, specially engineered by AMG. This version is distinguished by the state-of-the-art Diamond grille, the impressive front air intakes, the special alloy wheels with sports styling, the rear diffuser and the LED technology for both the headlamps and tail lights. The engine that powers the CLA 250 SPORT is a straight-four, 2.1-litre petrol unit rated at 211 hp.

Moving inside the car, we embrace a familiar atmosphere. Merely revised compared to the A-Class, the dashboard of the new CLA-Class features the dynamic wing-shape design and certain specific elements to make it stand apart from the hatchback model. The instrument cluster and silhouette of the trim panel running across the middle section of the dashboard are different for the C 117. By looking at the upholstery on the sport seats pictured in the photos, it is highly possible Mercedes-Benz offers greater customization choices for the CLA, as this is a niche model.

LEAKED: First unofficial pictures of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2013 emerge on the internet

We were already previewing the new-generation E-Class 2013 as a major hit and now, our words are confirmed. The car we have seen for so many months hidden under black cladding is a complete departure from the curent 212 series. The first photos, which were leaked on the interwebs yesterday, emphasize the main body variants: the saloon and the estate. For the first time in the history of the model, the E-Class is available in two distinct personalities.

The Elegance version gets the classic lamella grille, which also got heavily revised in terms of styling, whereas the high-end Avantgarde lime receives an all new Star grille with two thin blades for a dynamic effect. The upcoming E 63 AMG, that arrives in early 2013, will sport company's newly premiered twin-blade grille.

Besides the different visual identities, other major changes at the front involve the new LED, single-body headlamps and the bumper with new air vents inspired from the recent concept cars of the brand. The profile lost its rear wing-placed Ponton crease and is now more elegant and upright. The rear end sports new LED tail lights with impressive inner graphics, as well as a slightly retouched protection bumper. The thin chrome strips placed on the body and the new alloy wheel designs complete the visual philosophy of the updated E-Class.

Inside, clients receive a refreshed dashboard and new quality materials. The steering wheel models, the instrument cluster, the rounder air vents and the central clock come from the CLS-Class, whereas the LCD display for the COMAND Online just got wider and also received sharper graphic capabilities.

Stay tuned to www.mercedesgla.blogspot.com and learn more about the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2013 on Thrusday, when the German constructor is expected to release the full official details and photo gallery!

LEAKED: The new Mercedes-Benz GL-Class emerges on the internet prior to NYIAS 2012 reveal

As the NYIAS 2012 is around next corner, we were expecting 'leaks' to happen sooner or later. One of the stars at the Mercedes-Benz stand at New York is the new GL business class SUV. Compared to the outgoing generation, the X 166 model series has grown in overall dimensions: it's longer, wider and taller, it offers more room inside and it feels more robust. From every angle you look at it, the car looks powerful and astonishing.

The new GL-Class leads the G-Class tradition into the future: the strong, muscular, upright lines of the body are reminiscent of the iconic Gelandewagen. With the AMG Sports Package installed, the SUV looks beefy and solid thanks to the set of 20" alloy wheels with special design, the impressive  front air intakes and the beautifully sculpted rear bumper. LED technology is present for both the headlamps and the charming tail lights. If we enter the cabin, we will immediately spot the similarities with the ML. In fact, as it did in the past, the GL copies its brother as this approach is more cost effective than developing a new architecture.

The ML makes a clear statement on efficiency, but the new GL-Class is also following this path. Engine lineup comprises BLUETEC diesel and gasoline powerplants, ranging from 211 up to 435 (408?) hp. There will even be a true AMG choice with the introduction of the 525 hp GL 63 AMG planned for early 2013.

All the recent Mercedes-Benz breakthroughs in safety, technology and infotainment will make their way onto the new GL-Class. Other than that, the main features are shared with the M-Class, one of them being the complex ON&OFFROAD package, which finds the perfect balance between a thoroughbred athlete and a skillful hiker.

More official information will be issued these days - till then, take your time and surf through the photo gallery. Enjoy!
