The future looks bright for the E-Class. The executive model from Mercedes-Benz is currently subject to intense development work ahead of the launch of the all new 2013 generation. Long before the future W/S 213 series arrives on the market, the refreshed W/S 212 E-Class announces a design revolution for the Stuttgart-based constructor. Already widely recognized is the fact the new E-Class Facelift will mark the return to the single-unit headlights and the discontinuation of distinctive four-eyed front fascia.

If one might feel nostalgic for the oval lights, we say there is no need to worry. Most certainly, the finished result will be remarkable and will definitely offer a daring, dynamic presence for the premium model. The new headlamps will incorporate a high dose of clever technology, like the LED Intelligent Light System and the infrared projector for the Night View Assist Plus technology.

Another characteristical part of the new face is the prominent radiator grille, with its clearly traced details. The criticized Ponton crease will be slightly toned down and somehow integrated in the design of the side profile and thus become less visible. The tail lights will also receive a new shape and revised inner graphics based on LED technology, that should offer a spectacular show when lit up at night.

Even though it will remain mainly rectangular, the dashboard will get new controls and equipment straight from the CLS-Class. Remarkable is the new center console, defined by the new HVAC and COMAND Online control panels as well as the beautiful clock surrounded by the rounder air vents covered in aluminium, which give the E-Class a new, more self-assured look. The quality of the materials used for personalizing the interior will also be upgraded to a new level thanks to the introduction of foam-based high-rank plastics and refined upholstery and trim choices.

The engines for the new E-Class Facelift will basically be the same as for the current model. Upgrades are planned for the range-topping variants. The upcoming E 350 BE with V6 engine grows from 306 hp to 333 hp, the new E 500 BE with V8 power now offers 435 hp, while the output of the E 63 AMG could also be increased by 12 hp up to 537 hp (564 hp for the model equipped with Performance Package).

Shortly after the world premiere slated for NAIAS Detroit 2013, the new E-Class Facelift lineup will be available for sale at authorized dealers across Europe, USA and Asia beginning with March next year. In Germany, the price for an entry-level model should not exceed 40,000 euros.

SPY: The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Limousine (W 205) - new scoops

The all new generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is due to make appearance in 2014. The 205 model series will be the basis for the accelerated growth of the German brand and a crucial model that will help Mercedes-Benz regain the lead in the luxury segment by the end of this decade.

The upcoming C-Class Limousine will build on the tradition paved by its ancestors, but also focus on a new, dynamic approach for a Mercedes-Benz model. Even though the current 204 generation models are still an attractive choice in the medium class segment, the next iteration of the C-Class looks to set itself as the best mid-sized premium automobile in the industry.

The saloon version pictured in this articles carries a great deal of exterior camouflage, as there is still more than a year till the final product is released in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show. The design of the 4-door model will mark the advent of a new styling philosophy for Mercedes-Benz, which combines the core, traditional language of the constructor with a progressive, striking and more sophisticated approach. The Elegance trim will be easily recognized through the classic chrome grille, whereas the Avantgarde line will display the sporty radiator grille with the large Three-Pointed Star placed in the center.

The new C-Class will grow in size, to make enough room for the upcoming CLA-Class (C 117) compact 4-door coupe. The body will sit lower to the ground and thus improve both aesthetics and stability. Moreover, the model will also feature state-of-the-art technology designed to deliver superior dynamics without affecting comfort. In every aspect, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be a car for the driver, ready to meet even the most difficult demands.

Less than three years after the start of production, the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen achieves a high score: half a million E-Class sedans from the W 212 series rolled off the assembly line up to this moment. The anniversary vehicle is an E 350 4MATIC in Calcit White exterior paint finish and boasting an extensive equipment, which is bound to reach a customer from the USA. In addition to the standard safety package, the limousine also features the Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist systems on board.

"The E-Class is the epitome of a luxury sedan: modern, fascinating and safe. These facts are continuously confirmed by our clients and the high acceptance in the market. I am particularly pleased that our anniversary vehicle goes to a satisfied customer from the United States, "said Dr. Willi Reiss, head of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen.

Since the launch in May 2009, the E-Class of the W 212 series appealed to public in terms of comfort, safety and design. An impressive collection of major national and international awards confirm the high popularity of this model. For example, the E-Class was voted as favourite car in Germany and thus received the ADAC Yellow Angel Award,  as well as the German Design Award for the styling philosophy it displays.

The E-Class has a long tradition in the portfolio of Mercedes-Benz. Since the first E-Class came out of the factory some sixty years ago, no less than eight different generations have been premiered during this period and more than ten million units have been sold to clients all around the world. This unique performance makes the E-Class the most successful business limousine of all time.
