As Formula 1 prepares to be listed at the Singapore stock exchange beginning with July, Mercedes-Benz is considering a possible withdrawal at the end of the season. Apart from the discretionary Concorde Agreement, the Germans will be intentionately skipped from the big table when the major teams will get to appoint directors the moment F1 shares are traded at Singapore.

The Star brand is currently conducting an impact study to measure the eventual losses this remission from motorsporting activities would bring to the company. Officials are mad at Bernie Ecclestone for this revolting decision, as he always seems to forget that even though in the Modern Era, Mercedes-Benz did not have its own works team until 2010 and took part in F1 as a solid engine partner for McLaren, Force India and former Brawn GP, the Silver Arrows wrote glorious pages of racing history during the 1930s and 1950s, winning two Formula 1 world championship titles in 1954 and 1955.

A possible exit would immediately affect the rating of Formula 1, with the value of the stock market floatation dropping by 20%, specialists predict. No matter the decision, F1 without Mercedes-Benz would certainly look incomplete. However, in the event of an official renunciation in 2012, we feel the Stuttgart-firm will likely adopt the Renault example and retain its position as powerplant supplier for several Formula 1 teams.
