Production jubilee at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen: the one millionth vehicle of the current C-Class family rolled off the factory on the 13th November 2012. The current C-Class series, including the sedan, wagon, coupe and the GLK variants, is assembled at the Bremen facility on a highly flexible production line. The milestone vehicle is a C 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Estate in polar white exterior paint finish. Andreas Kellermann, manager of the Bremen plant, handed over the keys directly on the shop floor to a customer from Bavaria. "The know-how gained from the one millionth model is very valuable in our preparations for the next-generation C-Class.", said Kellermann.

About the current C-Class and GLK family

Since 2007, the sedan and the station wagon versions of the current C-Class series have been produced in Bremen. In June 2011, the new C-Class Coupé followed. Since 2008, the GLK mid-class SUV has been manufactured on the same assembly line with the C-Class series at Bremen - and, beginning with June 2012, the second generation as well. Regardless of model and equipment, the vehicles can run flexibly in any order on the assembly line - exactly as the customer orders require it. The C-Class is the highest-volume series from Mercedes-Benz - and its importance at the Bremen plant will grow in the future. The location is the center of excellence for the production of upcoming next-generation C-Class starting 2014, and also controls the start-up and production of this high-volume series in foreign works such as Tuscaloosa / USA, Beijing / China and East London / South Africa.
