Designed by the automobile designers at Mercedes-Benz, developed in collaboration with the eyewear specialists at Rodenstock: the new Mercedes-Benz Style Eyewear Collection for spring/summer 2013 will be making its debut at opti 2013, the international trade show for optics and design (25 to 27 January 2013). Also taking a starring role at the specialist show is a unique pair of Mercedes-Benz Style Iconic Eyewear sunglasses, whose sculptural design idiom and progressive, distinctive styling reflect the design idiom of Mercedes-Benz and offer a foretaste of the Mercedes-Benz Style Eyewear Collection 2014.All in all, the Mercedes-Benz Style Eyewear Collection spring/summer 2013 comprises six pairs of sunglasses and nine designs for prescription lenses. Common to all is the brand's hallmark design idiom and their high-quality finish. The glasses are available from opticians now.
Among the highlights of the Eyewear Collection are the models MBS 1024 and MBS 4010. In the case of the sunglass design MBS 1024, the combination of rounded lenses in polished titanium frames with silk matt side pieces delivers a stylish interplay of matt and reflective effects. The spectacles are available in four different colours. The Driver's Edition features Rodenstock SunContrast or polarised lenses, providing full UV and glare protection in conjunction with an individual prescription, so enhancing safety.
Some of the latest designs involve frames in multi-layered acetate, which allows a harmonious combination of two colours, for example red and havana brown in the case of the model MBS 4010. These prescription lens spectacles, with their attractive sporty shape and rounded frames, are also available in dark green, olive and black-brown.
