Top golf trainer, Robert Baker, is protagonist in more than 100 videos, one of which is the app “Logical Golf by Robert Baker”. Mercedes-AMG is supporting its brand ambassador as partner of the app. It is intended to give ambitious golfers and beginners alike a detailed knowledge of the techniques used in the game. The range covers aspects such as putting, chipping, pitching, playing out of bunkers, drives, problem shots, irons and woods.

“We are very pleased to support our brand ambassador of many years with his app, ‘Logical Golf by Robert Baker’, said Mario Spitzer, head of Branding and Marketing Mercedes-AMG. “For anyone interested in the sport, Logical Golf offers excellent ways to improve their game with easy-to-follow tips.”

Robert Baker said: “The idea behind the Logical Golf app is to be able to share and demonstrate my philosophy with my fellow golfers trying to improve their game. As a golf teacher, it is often a challenge to teach many players simply because of the limitation of time. The app provides a really effective way to reach out to a wider audience and to help a lot more people.”

The structure of the app is geared to the consumer, so there are three different categories for the different levels of player: “Basics for Beginners”, “Solve a Problem” and “Tips for Professionals”. “Basics for Beginners” illustrates the most important elements of a golf swing. The main focus of the app is found in the “Solve a Problem” category. Here, advanced golfers can find useful tips, see how to achieve greater length off the tee, control flight curves, make better contact with the ball, improve their short game, and find out how to play various problem shots. The final category, “Tips for Professionals”, is intended to encourage players to perfect certain movements and try out new techniques.

The user can also find the additional category, “Who is Robert Baker”, in the main menu. Here, Charles Barkley, Michael Douglas, Ernie Els, Samuel L. Jackson, Nigel Mansell, Gary Player, Sylvester Stallone and Tico Torres all talk about their experiences working with Robert.

Robert Baker played for several years on the South African tour before starting to pass on his expertise as a teaching professional. His mentors were Chuck Cook and David Leadbetter, two of the world’s top golf coaches. In the 1990s, he worked closely together with Ernie Els, helping him to reach the top in the world rankings. Robert was also an adviser to four other golf legends: Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman, Nick Price and Nick Faldo.

In 2001, he founded the company Logical Golf, named after the training method he had developed. A special feature of Logical Golf is its strongly visual approach to teaching. Using simple but effective techniques, such as Logical Golf arrows and hula hoops, Robert manages to present and explain complex golf techniques in a way that is easy to follow. The viewer learns how to visualise golf swings and put them into practice.

Robert Baker has been a Mercedes-AMG brand ambassador since 2009. He currently drives a CLS 63 AMG, and also takes part in the model’s product film. Several times a year, interested customers have the opportunity of attending a golf clinic with Robert Baker to improve their game, as, for example, during the MercedesTrophy World Final next week in Stuttgart.

“The association with Mercedes-AMG is the perfect fit for Logical Golf. Our individualized approach teaches repeatable, consistent and fundamental golfing performance; characteristics of excellence that are precisely reflected in the philosophies of AMG. Mercedes-Benz is a proud sponsor of several of the world’s major tournaments and we are thrilled to be a part of this expansion”, add Robert Baker.
